Gestalt Therapy in Premià de Dalt (Maresme): My Therapeutic Approach

A Gestalt therapy space based on ethics, presence, and experience

The Gestalt therapy I offer in Premià de Dalt, in the Maresme area, is neither a technical service nor an act of faith.
Above all, it is a meeting between people.

A therapeutic space where care, shared reality, and awareness intertwine so that something new can emerge.

In my practice as a Gestalt therapist in the Maresme, there are certain convictions that support every process I accompany. They do not function as slogans or truths to impose, but as a ground from which to work with clarity and respect.

Over time, these convictions have taken shape in three pillars that guide my way of working in Gestalt therapy.

Seeing difference without reducing it to a label

Many people arrive at Gestalt therapy in the Maresme with diagnoses, labels, or explanations about their distress.

Sometimes these words bring relief.
Other times they weigh heavily.

In my way of working, the goal is not to ignore them or debate them, but not to turn them into identity.

To destigmatize psychological distress means being able to look at it without adding fear, judgment, or condemnation.

In sessions we explore questions such as:

  • what function a symptom serves
  • what it might be trying to protect or express
  • how it relates to the person’s life history

This approach belongs to the humanistic perspective of Gestalt therapy, where the symptom is not reduced to something that must simply be eliminated, but understood within the lived experience of the person.

At the same time, this perspective does not dissolve responsibility. Accompanying someone also means helping each person recognize how they relate to the world and their own capacity for choice.

Difference is not pathologized, but neither is it idealized.

Only when we can recognize what is there — without denying it or disguising it — does the possibility of real change emerge.

A clear therapeutic ethics

A therapeutic space needs a clear framework in order to be inhabitable.

For me, ethics in psychotherapy is not a list of good intentions but a daily practice expressed through boundaries, language, and the way we relate to one another.

I take care that therapy does not become a place of indoctrination or activism, whether political, religious, or therapeutic.

This does not mean emotional neutrality or lack of position, but deep respect for each person’s uniqueness.

I work from a shared ground:

  • the body
  • language
  • shared reality
  • the boundaries of the therapeutic encounter

This ground allows different experiences, beliefs, and even contradictions to be expressed without any of them needing to dominate as an absolute truth.

The therapeutic field in Gestalt therapy is an intersubjective space: it is built between you and me.

Without a clear framework, there is no real contact.

Listening to the body and embodied experience

In a culture that privileges mental explanations, trusting embodied experience is both a clinical and ethical choice.

The body is not only a channel of expression.

It is the place where experience is organized.

During sessions I pay attention to:

  • gesture
  • tone of voice
  • breathing
  • the rhythm with which something is said or avoided

This type of listening is part of the deep work of Gestalt therapy, which focuses on present experience.

It is not about applying body techniques mechanically, but about refining presence and awareness.

About noticing when there is resonance and when something becomes misaligned.

About accompanying from a presence that does not invade, but also does not withdraw.

When experience can be received with presence, awareness begins to unfold by itself.

Gestalt Therapy in Premià de Dalt (Maresme)

I accompany individual therapy and couples therapy processes through Gestalt therapy.

Sessions can take place:

  • in Premià de Dalt (Maresme)
  • online

Many people come to therapy when they experience:

  • confusion or a life crisis
  • difficulties in relationships
  • emotional blocks
  • a sense of disconnection from themselves
  • the desire to know themselves more deeply

Gestalt therapy in the Maresme offers a space to explore these experiences with presence, respect, and honesty.

A person-centered therapeutic approach

I accompany people, not categories.

What matters most to me is what happens in the encounter, rather than the labels someone may arrive with.

If there is pain, conflict, or transformation, let it happen through relationship rather than ideology.

Because what is most therapeutic is not being defined, but being heard with presence and without masks.

If you feel that the time has come to begin a Gestalt therapy process in Premià de Dalt or the Maresme, you can book a first introductory call.
