For many people, freedom means being able to do what one desires without having to justify it. From the perspective of Gestalt Therapy, however, freedom always goes hand in hand with personal responsibility.
You are free… and you are responsible for your own actions.
Only for your own.
In many therapeutic processes, understanding this difference marks a turning point in the way a person relates to themselves and to others.
Freedom Is Not Separation
This perspective felt deeply liberating to me. Growing up feeling responsible for the emotions of my surroundings —my mother, my sister, my family— led me to carry burdens that were not truly mine.
Understanding that my responsibility is limited to my own life felt like taking a deep breath for the first time.
But this does not mean disconnection.
It does not mean living closed within our own bubble or limiting ourselves to our personal well-being. Freedom also implies awareness of the other. It means being able to choose whether we want to contribute, collaborate, or support… not out of obligation, but out of conviction.
In Gestalt Therapy, many people discover that true freedom does not consist in isolating ourselves from the world, but in learning to relate to it from a more conscious choice.

How Do You Relate to the World?
Sometimes it is assumed that supporting a cause or engaging in something larger than ourselves requires personal sacrifice. But there are many ways to commit.
We do not always have to be on the front line. Sometimes a few hours, a gesture, or a small but meaningful contribution is enough.
Some people collaborate with social initiatives, environmental causes, or local support networks.
Each person finds their own way.
What matters is recognizing that you have something to give.
What Can You Give That Is Not Money?
This question can be more transformative than it seems.
Your time, your listening, your knowledge, your presence, your creative energy…
A sentence that has stayed with me these days is:
“He is so poor that he only has money.”
And I know that you, like me, have much more than that.
You Are Not Less Than You Seem: You Are More Than You Think
We live surrounded by resources, tools and capacities that we often take for granted.
Did you know that you carry in your pocket a device more powerful than the computer that took us to the moon?
And did you know that your mind, your emotions, your heart, your presence… can also change the world? Even if it is the world of just one person.
Very often the therapeutic process also consists in recognizing these inner resources that already exist within us.
Discovering What You Can Give Is Also Discovering Who You Are
Gestalt Therapy is not only a path of personal healing.
It is also an invitation to look at what already exists within you that deserves to be shared.
To discover your light, your capacity to give, and your power to transform everyday life.
If you are ready to reconnect with your value and with your capacity to contribute from who you are, this process is for you.
